Adventures Northwest Magazine is looking for an advertising salesperson to join our team. This position is part-time, and compensation is commission-based, offering flexible hours and the ability to work from home.
Sales effort is focused primarily on the six weeks leading up to magazine production each quarter. Magazine Production dates are February 21, May 10, August 16, and November 8.
Applicants must have some prior sales experience, love the outdoors, be self-motivated and organized, possess a positive attitude, and have excellent verbal and written skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our advertising solutions to businesses, helping them enhance their visibility and reach within the market. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, with a focus on building lasting relationships with clients.
This position requires the ability to:
- Identify and engage potential advertisers through various channels, including cold calling, emailing, and networking.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to maximize revenue while building mutually beneficial sustainable relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline management using relevant software tools.

Adventures Northwest is the region’s leading outdoor magazine, focusing on activities such as hiking, paddling, cycling, skiing, running, climbing, sailing, etc. We’re a quarterly publication based in Bellingham and are known for our compelling essays, stunning photography, and inspiring stories that celebrate the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
