Hannah Salia: Forest Passages

The wonderful Cascadian forests and seas of the West Coast are an infinite source of my artistic inspiration. In my work, I am drawn to the intensity and specificity of light as it plays across the landscape. Glimpses into the “light rooms” of forest passages, the infinite color variations on the trees and forest floor, the bark, foliage, lichens, and mosses lead to a myriad of metaphoric leaps for my artwork. These beautiful places are my muse, uplifting the heart and restoring the spirit. Connecting with the natural world and with others who share this love, my paintings are my deepest creative response to this collective experience.
